Hello everyone! My name is Alyssa Marcus and I’m a writer. I grew up in New York, I went to college at University of Massachusetts Amherst and I now live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
My first foray into writing was fiction when I was a kid. I wrote my first short story when I was in second grade and I still have a binder of poetry I wrote in third grade. From originally wanting to be an author, I changed to journalism when I was 14 or 15 and decided that I wanted to write for magazines.
Over four years of college, I took a bunch of different Journalism courses and got experience in multiple genres, from magazine to newspaper, politics to entertainment. Entertainment writing is my favorite, and I’m currently writing for TheCelebrityCafe and Examiner.com.
This is going to be my place to put up my articles, both published and not. Feel free to look around, and keep in mind that I’m in the market for both a full-time position and freelance work!
